Gypsum Wallboards

Gypsum boards are prefabricated building materials produced in a high-speed, continuous industrial process. Optimization of product quality, energy use, and raw material management are the keys to commercial success in prefabricated construction. Sustainability trends and the need to reduce CO2 make this optimization indispensable.

Our wide range of additives related to Vinapor® and Melflux® for gypsum wallboard applications help our customers solve specific challenges such as water reduction, pore design and control of hydration kinetics. BASF’s portfolio enables balanced solutions that use sources of variable raw material (gypsum from flue gas desulfuration, natural quarries and recycling) for different board types while addressing water and energy requirements. A team of experts support the development of customized, robust solutions now and in the future.

Highlight products

Vinapor GYP 10
Foaming agent with high solid content for small air pores in gypsum wallboard.
R+D VINAPOR GYP 3711
