Flooring adhesives that keep CO₂ emissions to a minimum

By combining detectable bio-based raw materials, renewable feedstock via BASF’s biomass balance approach and green electricity, Acronal^® MB BC 5325 achieves a cradle-to-gate product carbon footprint of zero. The result? A feasible solution for low-carbon flooring adhesive formulations that save primary fossil resources and make the most efficient possible use of renewables.

Acronal^® MB BC 5325 is part of our Acronal^® BC range. It contains a bio-based component that reduces the product carbon footprint (PCF) by approximately 26% compared to a purely fossil-based acrylate dispersion. The biogenic content of Acronal^® MB BC 5325 can be determined using the ¹⁴C method.

To reduce the PCF even further, the biomass balance (BMB) approach is applied to the remaining fossil part of the polymer.

Finally, green electricity is allocated. Our self-declaration ensures that 100% of the electricity used for the production process originates from renewable sources.
