Prof. Dr. Maren Urner

Program Director 'Master's in Sustainable Transformation Design', FH Münster, Germany 

Maren Urner is a neuroscientist and has been a Professor of Sustainable Transformation at FH Münster and the program director of the new Master's program in Sustainable Transformation Design since September 2024. 

She studied cognitive and neurosciences, among other places, at McGill University in Montreal, and earned her PhD in neuroscience at University College London. In 2016, she co-founded the first ad-free online magazine "Perspective Daily" for constructive journalism. She led the editorial team as editor-in-chief until March 2019 and was the managing director.

After her time at Perspective Daily, she taught as a professor of media psychology at the Media University of Applied Sciences in Cologne (formerly HMKW University of Applied Sciences for Media, Communication, and Management) until August 2024. 

Since September 2020, she has been a columnist for the Frankfurter Rundschau. Her three books "Schluss mit dem täglichen Weltuntergang" (Droemer 2019), "Raus aus der ewigen Dauerkrise" (Droemer 2021), and "Radikal emotional: Wie Gefühle Politik machen" (Droemer 2024) are SPIEGEL bestsellers. She is the recipient of the B.A.U.M. Environmental and Sustainability Award 2023 in the Science category.
