Research and Development

Our labs in Ludwigshafen feature modern facilities and a team of experts that specializes in bitumen emulsions and hot-mix asphalt modification.

Latex Polymer Synthesis and Formulation: Our laboratories specialize in the synthesis and formulation of latex polymers. We perform extensive chemical characterization to ensure the quality and performance of our latex polymer products.

Bitumen Emulsion Production and Characterization: Our experts use advanced techniques to analyze and evaluate the properties of bitumen emulsions to ensure their optimal performance in various asphalt applications.

In-House Bitumen Modification and Testing: We conduct comprehensive tests to evaluate the properties of the modified binder, including tests such as Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR), Bending Beam Rheometer (BBR), Ductilometer, Rolling Thin Film Oven Test (RTFOT), softening point, and needle penetration. These comprehensive tests help ensure the quality and performance of our modified asphalt.

Binder-Aggregate Interactions: Understanding the interactions between binders and aggregates is crucial. Our laboratories specialize in binder-aggregate interaction testing and use techniques such as the rolling bottle test.

Analysis of Binder Composition and Additive Interactions: We also offer binder composition analysis, including analysis of saturate, aromatic, resin, and asphaltene (SARA analysis). We also study binder-additive interactions, enhancing asphalt binder performance. This work helps us understand how additives can improve the performance of asphalt binders, leading to better asphalt mixes.
